All those inspiring and interesting people who fill my life. When I got into the news bidness as a green 18-year-old, I had no idea a profession would carry with it the necessity to mingle with some of the most interesting people on earth and make a living talking to them, learning from them, becoming their friends.
Most of my good friends I met because I'm a journalist. Almost everybody who is interesting came to me that way. It is a wonderful business if meeting dazzling people is the goal. I'm fortunate in a zillion ways, but one of the best is being a journalist because its pay is so much more valuable than any amount of money.
