Photo of the Day: Testing Out a Modified Body

Drove over to Lynchburg to ride a bike trail along the James River with Leah Weiss, who had major abdominal surgery just about three weeks ago. You can see that she is hale, hardy and trimmer with that "watermelon-sized" growth removed from her tum-tum.

We rode a few flat miles out onto Percival's Island and, except for a little early-season butt pain, the ride was uneventful. At one point (noting my own knee replacement more than a year ago), Leah said, "If we put together our working body parts, we'll have one person."

Such is age.
