Funny thing happened on the way to treating my ex, Christina, to dinner for her birthday tonight. I ran into my grandkids and their family at the Olive Garden.

Here's Maddie and me*, she looking so grown up, wearing her skirt and blouse with low-heel shoes. Sometimes she looks like a young woman. Scary.

Mads took a pretty good bump on her head yesterday, running through the house, and was feeling poorly all day. But tonight, she was lovely, bright and ... well ... the girl I know.

(*Note my red shoes and new neon blue watch band. A man of considerable taste, I'd say.)
