Dirt and a bit of foundation is all that remains of Huff Lane School, which Roanoke City sold to private developers who will put up two hotels and a restaurant just off Valley View Mall and only a few blocks from my house. This single project affected my vote in he upcoming City Council election, where I will not vote for an incumbent. This was a terrible decision, one strongly opposed by all in our neighborhood.
Tough vote but I agree with the vote....the hard decisions are tough...how do you increase tax base in a land locked City....no annexation...I have sat through similar discussions...I feel it is Ready ...Shoot ...Aim to be against this at this point,,,,see what happens first...it nay be a good thing for the neighborhood and the City...if you want services....you must pay for them...
