Will Pat Summitt's Last Trip to Charlottesville Come Next Week?

Pat Summitt
Those of you who want to see legendary basketball coach Pat Summitt on what may well be her last venture into our area with her University of Tennessee basketball team can do so for very little money ($6, $8 and $10) Sunday, Nov. 20, 2 p.m. at the John Paul Jones Arena at UVa.

Joanne Boyle, UVa's rookie coach
Summitt's team, which is ranked No. 3 in the nation preseason will visit a UVa team without Debbie Ryan as coach for the first time in many years. Ryan retired because of health concerns after last season and Summit's tenure is coming to an end after nearly 40 years because of early onset Alzheimer's. Summitt has been open about the condition and is facing it by working.

UVa's new coach is Joanne Boyle, who has coached at Richmond and Cal with some degree of success.

Get your tickets here. (Note: General Admission tickets don't have seat assignments.) The last time UT was in Charlottesville two years ago, the game was fast, well played and entertaining. My guess is it will be again.
