The Roanoke Valley Big Read kicked off tonight at the Patrick Henry Hotel by introducing the kind of soccer team--refugees--that are featured in this year's book,
Refugees United. It's a book about a team of immigrants that helped bring a Georgia Community together and expand itself.
The Big Read will sponsor a lot of reading events around Roanoke in the next few months and people will be encouraged to read the selection and talk about it.
