Mother Smith went into the kitchen first thing this morning to throw together a little German potato salad for the first time in years. Good stuff, but I have no chance of eating any of it because it's heavy on white potatoes and bacon (that's bacon grease in the metal cup; Mmmmmmm), two no-nos for moi. But my son's family will enjoy it at dinner tonight.
