The combination of NPR and the New York Times (columnist Ross Douthat) may have been just a bit more than the language could bear this morning. I heard the following sentence--I swear I'm not exaggerating, distorting, making it up or otherwise coloring this mangling of the King's English:"Russia turned out to be very negotiable with."
