A Demographic Look at Congress: It Ain't You, Babe

I don't know where Cory Donovan, director of the Roanoke Blacksburg Technology Council, got this, but it's worth repeating:

If Congress represented the American population demographically and proportionately, it would have:
  • 127 more women
  • 20 more African Americans
  • 59 more Hispanics
  • 8 fewer Mormons
  • 32 fewer Jews
  • 53 fewer Catholics
  • 70 more religiously unaffiliated members
  • and 79 more members who are neither Democrats nor Republicans.

Those of you who say Congress does not represent you seem to have a point.
