This is my son, Evan, sitting on McAfee's Knob in Roanoke County when he was 18 (about 1992). He and I had climbed the trail and I set up my camera on a tri-pod for this pix. A minute or so later, I put the timer on and ran around to where Evan was sitting and slid in behind him--quite literally, slid in--just as the shutter released. I have that shot as a poster, hanging in my house. Frankly, though, I like this photo better. Looks historic, I think.
