but better for readers. [Lynchburg's papers] compete with Roanoke in the Bedford and Smith
Mountain Lake markets, which are significant, and in the case of
Virginia Tech sports. Unfortunately, it's human nature not to work as
hard to break a story if there's no danger that the 'other side' will
have it first."
