Fox News Once Again Trails the Field in True Info

Faux News: Open of mouth, dim of wit.
A new Farleigh Dickinson University poll shows us once again what we already know: Watching Fox News is bad for your arguments, since you often know less than those who get no news at all. In fact, cable news in general doesn't do so well. (Report is here.)

Says, Dan Cassino, a professor of political science at Fairleigh Dickinson, “Ideological media does a very poor job overall. They don’t challenge people’s assumptions. In traditional news, you will find that more often than not, there actually is a correct answer and there is no gray area.”

Cassino adds, " ... the results show us that there is something about watching Fox News that leads people to do worse on these questions than those who don’t watch any news at all.”

  1. In October of 2013 Fox News had far exceeded both MSNBC and CNN for the most watched cable news channel in the United States. If you don’t like Fox News – don’t watch it; at least until it is Big Government mandated - punishable via IRS fines.
