My much older brother, Sandy, came through Roanoke last night on the way to a seminar in Charlottesville and we spent a couple of hours at the Veranda Bistro (here on the deck) arguing about whose version of our childhood was the correct one. We had the opportunity to talk to both Chris and Irene Karageorge, who own the Bistro, and both were delightful. I won our argument about childhood because mine is in book form (
Burning the Furniture) and books trump oral arguments.
