Photos of the Day: Pampa and Sonya Go Hiking

Here's how I found Sonya this morning.
The light in the forest was wildly entertaining.
Sonya likes this shot. Me, too.
Sonya Chappelear and I went up to Bottom Creek (actually, up and down to Bottom Creek) this morning looking for a little exercise and a nice adventure. We found both.

This is becoming a favorite hike of mine because it combines a lot of pretty forest and wildlife with a nice 200-foot waterfall (second highest in Virginia) and enough rolling terrain to keep the hike brisk and hearty. Here's some of what we saw.

Wildflowers are in the woods and meadows by the thousands.
When you're too pooped to pant, you sit and drink.
Sometimes you try to scare the photographer with those big front teeth.
This is Sonya's shot. I stole it. Bad, bad boy.
We're getting good at selfies.
Colour en colour.
Pampa's sweath and content.
