Writers Series Features Memoir Class Wednesday

Karen Prior
Karen Swallow Prior, author of the simply wonderful "Booked: Literature in the Soul of Me," will teach this month's Roanoke Regional Writers Conference Writers Series class on memoir writing Wednesday, July 17, 6:30-8 p.m. at Community High School in downtown Roanoke.

Karen is a literature professor at Liberty University and the NYTimes loves her book: "Ever wished you'd had a teacher who made you want to read the classics? Your wish has come true in this beautifully-told book. Karen Swallow Prior movingly and honestly tells a compelling story of self-discovery and coming to faith through some of the greatest books ever written."

She blogs at Her.meneutics. Karen's teaching has won awards and we're delighted she'll be part of our Writers Series and will team with a Sweet Briar teacher in January to teach a two-class set on memoir writing. (Paragraph) The Writing Series class is free (we pass the hat to cover Karen's expenses) and we ask that you bring your own beverages.

If you have questions, please call Dan Smith at 540-556-8510 or e-mail at editrdansmith@gmail.com.
