Huff Lane Neighbors' Wishes Ignored by Council

Roanoke resident speaks to Council about the Huff Lane issue.
As expected, Roanoke City Council today--by a 4-3 vote (Ferris, Bestpitch, Trinkle and Rosen)--discounted the overwhelming opposition of people in the Dorchester Court neighborhood and allowed the construction of two hotels and a restaurant hard against the neighborhood.

This complex will become a part of Valley View Mall, a center that was built with the understanding that it would not encroach upon the neighborhood. The only thing the neighbors can--and should--do now is organize election opposition to the four votes against.
