Photo of the Day: An Eagle at Wasena Park

A woman with binoculars was standing on the side of the Greenway in Wasena Park a little while ago, intently watching. I stopped and asked what was up and she pointed to a tree and said, "Eagle."

I looked for several seconds before I saw this imposing figure on a branch, his head spun almost all the way around, looking at us. He was an older guy, I'd guess from his color and size, but no less magnificent. I'd never seen a bald eagle before and was mesmerized. As we watched the eagle, a beautiful bluebird flew in front of him and landed on a branch about 25 yards away.

Nice morning in Wasena and I want to thank the young woman for sharing her find and her binocs. Thoughtful of her.
