Here's yesterday's gubernatorial election, a microcosm of gerrymandering. The red counties are Republican and the blue Democratic and beyond that it's rural vs. urban. It also represents jamming Democrats into tight districts and pulling Republicans from those districts to form nearly unbeatable GOP seats.
Statewide, Dems almost always outpoll, Repubs, but in these enclaves of Repub protection, they win.
It's unfair, immoral and illegal, but when the Repubs appoint the judges, what can we expect?
