If you're looking for a farmer's market in the Roanoke area to display and sell your wares and the markets in Salem and Roanoke don't do it for you, consider the new-ish market in Vinton. Here's the lowdown:
The Vinton Farmers'
Market is seeking vendors of locally grown produce, plants, baked goods, meat,
cheese, artisan crafts and original art. The market is open Friday and Saturday
from, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., May through October, at 204 W Lee Ave (behind the Vinton
Post Office).
Vendor spaces may be
reserved for $5 a day, $10 aweek, $40 a month. $30 for 3 consecutive months, $35 for
6 consecutive months. The market
features individual tables, a large
permanent canopy, electricity, fans, restrooms and a stage. The market will
have the ability to accept SNAP this season.
