Opening Night in Salem: They Also Played a Ball Game

Children watch from the skybox behind home plate.
Some people come for the ball, others for the beer.
A little football for prizes (this guy missed).
the TeeVee boys were there (not sure which ones).
The whole deal is mostly about being social. Who's watching the game?
Last night was opening night at Salem Municipal Field with the Salem Red Sox playing the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on a cool, sunny evening. It was a sizeable--though hardly capacity--crowd that enjoyed beer, hotdogs, conversation and some even watched the game, which Salem won in an exciting fashion, scoring five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The Sox are home through Wednesday (6 p.m. tonight and Sunday, 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 11 a.m. Wednesday for the business special).
