Under the ruberic of "inexplicable" comes this (according to a local daily newspaper in today's edition):
Pulaski County High School's football team, which has won one game this year and lost eight, is likely to make the playoffs. Carroll County, which has two wins, is all but a lead pipe cinch to get in. Meanwhile, Patrick Henry High in Roanoke (which plays in a different classification), will likely finish a respectable 7-3 and second in its district with a win over one-game winner William Fleming tonight and has a distant, outside chance of making the playoffs. Its entry depends on other teams losing.
I'm still trying to figure why a high school football game is major front page news as opposed to sports section news.
ReplyDeleteI guess not much else that's front-page-worthy is happening in the world. . . .
