Writers Group Features Hot New Lynchburg Author

My buddy Betsy Ashton of Valley Writers tells me that a fine new voice in novel writing is the guest speaker at the next meeting Nov. 4 at the Unitarian Universalist Church on the corner of Grandin Rd. and Brandon Ave. in Roanoke. Gametime is 6:30 p.m.

The writer is Kathleen Grisson (right) of Lynchburg who has, as Betsy says, "written a highly-praised historical novel, Kitchen House." She will speak and sign copies.

  1. Hi,

We wanted to share some info with Lynchburg writers:

Join poet Kim Garcia and Pat MacEnulty for a Transformative Writing Retreat in the Virginia Mountains! Sevenoaks Retreat Center is located not far from Charlottesville, Virginia, Oct. 15-16.

We'll be having workshops, discussions about writing craft and process. Also, time for writing on your own!

Sevenoaks has given us a good package: for $285 -- four meals and accommodations for Saturday night. The food, I hear, is wonderful. I'm sure if you wanted to come earlier that the staff at Sevenoaks could accommodate your request. (They are great.)

    Here's a link for registration:

Here's a link for the retreat center itself:

Would love to see you! Let's write, talk, and relax.

    Pat
