Grandin Village Community Market Open for Season

By late morning the crowd had thinned at the Grandin Community Market. It's usually hopping about 9 a.m.^

If fresh eggs are your deal, here's the place to be.^

Tomatoes and conversation go together well.^

Brook Dickson chats while her husband Kurt Navratil strokes the pup.^

The market presents an attractive picture for the neighbors.^

The popular community market at Grandin Village in Roanoke is open for the season. The market is behind the Surf 'n' Turf restaurant on the corner of Grandin Rd. and Westover Ave.

The market is a small version of Roanoke's historic farmer's market downtown and is a popular stop for Grandin Village's latte-granola set. It will be open Saturdays through the fall and as produce comes into season, its bins will fill up.

(Note: Hey, Kurt, watch the birdie. Heh, heh, heh ...)

  1. We bought some herbs and planted them. There were lots of people when we were there around 9-9:30. Very good start!

  2. So happy that they are open again. This is absolutely one of my favorite things to do on Saturday morning.
