Sen. Janet Howell: Hero of the revolution |
Sen. Janet Howell (D-Fairfax) has put a rider on Sen. Jill Vogel's outrageous bill requiring a sonogram before an abortion can be performed. Howell's little benefit would be to require men who want Viagra (or any of the other blue pill genre drugs) to undergo a full rectal exam and a cardiac stress test before docs could prescribe. (See the previous post from yesterday for details on Vogel's bill.)
Hell, if politicians are going to get into medicine, might as well get into it all the way and make this dis-ease equal across the board.
Janet says it's a bill for gender equality: "We need some gender equity here. The Virginia Senate is about to pass a bill that will require a woman to have totally unnecessary medical procedure at their cost and inconvenience. If we're going to do that to women, why not do that to men?" But there's a good bit more than that. It's a wonderful case of "check mate" for the nut fringe.
