Quote of the Day II: Cut Military Spending, Save Jobs

"Large military budgets are very bad for job creation especially in the long run, and actually responsible in my view for much of the loss of American industrial jobs ... Cutting defense spending is absolutely crucial to revitalizing American industry and creating millions of jobs that we've already lost -- getting them back and getting more on top of that."

--Dr. Lloyd Dumas, professor of Political Economy, Economics and Public Policy at the University of Texas Dallas (quoted here). (He also reasons that even in R&D, civilian research is far better for job creation because it does not have a narrow military focus.)
