Those who thought themselves safe from the Tea Party's fringe nutcases got a dose of reality at the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors meeting yesterday, according to a story in a local daily (here).A group of Tea Partiers addressed the board, questioning its membership in a national group that promotes environmentalism--which the Tea Party apparently opposes. The dues for membership are $1,200 a year and the Tea Party wants that stopped. Seems the association is concerned about a number of issues caused by climate change and the Tea Party simply won't have public discussion of that issue because its members don't believe people have anything to do with what's happening to the earth.
