My favorite Christmas movie of all time. Love it.
"You'll shoot your eye out." "I triple-dog-dare you." Red Ryder BB gun. "What do you want for Christmas, little boy?" "Oh fuuuuuu...dge!"

Jean Shepherd died in 1999, I believe. The vignettes shown in the movie come from a collection of his stories, and were not originally all about Christmas. Those are collected in his book "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash". Shepherd appears as the man in line to see Santa in the movie, who tells Ralphie where the line starts. His voice was fantastic for these tales. I wish I had been able to pick him up on the radio.
