Fine New Food Blog for Locavors in Roanoke

Christina Nifong
Christina Nifong, a former food writer at the local daily in Roanoke, among many of her journalistic credits, has just initiated a new food blog at christinanifong.com (here). This blog will concentrate on our foods in our region, cooked the way we cook. The recipes are healthy and the foods locally available.

It's a handsome blog that promises recipes appropriate for the season and the waist line.

Christina has worked at the Raleigh News & Observer, the Christian Science Monitor and Open Society Foundations over the past 25 years. She has written for radio and cooked on TV. She is a native of Winston-Salem (she graduated from UNC).

I don't personally use recipes (Mom said they were plagairism), but I do get ideas from them. That's OK in my world (Mom said two recipes represented "research"). And Christina has a whole world of healthy, tasty ideas for all of us.

Use her blog as your personal recipe file. It takes up exactly no space in your kitchen.
