Trish White-Boyd: 'We're Concerned about Potholes!'

Trish White-Boyd
Finally got a call from Trish White-Boyd, the Roanoke City Council candidate who the other night said she was in favor of Sanctuary City status for Roanoke. Truth be told, however, when she gave her response to the "yes or no question" from a reporter at a candidate forum, "I had no idea what he was talking about," she now says. "I thought they were talking about sanctuaries for abused women."

With further study, however, the original answer she gave covers the topic quite well: Yes!

The three candidates I prefer for council--Trish, John Garland and Michelle Dykstra--have all revisited the question and even though their responses were different, they all satisfied me that they were aware, thinking and had the best result for Roanoke in mind.

"Our police have enough to do without acting as agents for the federal government," Trish says, and she mentioned the potential for extreme abuse of a system of warehousing people without criminal charges for indefinite periods.

Trish tends to be blunt and she said, "I don't even know why that question was asked. We're concerned about potholes and neighborhoods!"
